Rag & Bone's Spring/Summer 2014 collection showcased at New York Fashion week was a stark contrast to the preceding Fall season's which was steeped in rich texture. David Neville and Marcus Wainwright's pared-down slipdresses, floaty skirts and tank tops seemed to be an about-face for the designers.
"It's a big shift from last season," Wainwright said before the show. "It's ballsy but you have to take a risk."
Proportions were oversized with long boyfriend blazers, hip-hugging pullovers and floaty, knee-grazing skirts. Like Jason Wu's show earlier in the day, Rag & Bone's collection had a sporty feel that included boxy toppers, cross-body bags and ultra-chunky platforms. Even the neon lipstick had an athletic feel when paired with supersize silhouettes.
