Nicolas Ghesquière has been officially appointed as the new artistic director of Louis Vuitton, replacing American designer Marc Jacobs, whose contract with the French luxury giant was set to expire in 2014. Ghesquière was formerly the creative director of Balenciaga up until November 2012 and had since been replaced by Alexander Wang.
On the news, Ghesquière shares, "Louis Vuitton has always incarnated for me the symbol of ultimate luxury, innovation and exploration..."
