The singer from Barbados will be performing at the annual American Music Awards on 24 November and in this year's edtion, will be recognised for her profound influence over pop music across the world with the first ever Icon Award.
The news comes just days after the R&B beauty scored her 25th top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, tying her with Elvis Presley.
Her new hit The Monster - a collaboration with Eminem - is also her 45th Hot 100 entry, tying her with Mariah Carey.
The Icon Award will be Rihanna's seventh AMA.
