Angelina Jolie became the youngest ever winner of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, presented on Saturday night at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' annual Governors Awards where she was joined by her husband Brad Pitt.
In her emotional speech she paid a special tribute to her mother who first taught her to live “a life of use to others.” Jolie issued a remarkable reminder for her audiences that she is fortunate enough that she is blessed with the basic necessities of life, food, shelter and love and also a way to portray her talents. But there are several people across the globe who possess similar talents but they remain as mere refugees or tortured people with none of the basic amenities. Jolie said, “We are all, every one of us in this room, so fortunate.”
