Every year, amfAR -- American Foundation for AIDS Research -- hosts a formal affair on the eve of New York Fashion Week each year, and this year's edition was no less sparkling with celebrities decked in the couture gowns and jewelry, raising funds towards a great cause.
Dating back to 1998, more than $15 million has been raised over the years, and the fancy evening also “honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to raise awareness about the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”
The 2015 honorees are Rosario Dawson, Harry Belafonte and celebrity photographer Patrick Demarchelier. A number of big stars are among the event chairs, including Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Whoopi Goldberg, Andy Cohen, Jeremy Piven, Julianna Marguiles, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karlie Kloss, Kenneth Cole, Nina Garcia, Toni Garrn, Donna Karan, and Chelsea Clinton.
