Peter Copping Makes Debut for Oscar de la Renta
By SENATUS News | 18 February 2015

The Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter 2015/2016 presentation at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday saw the debut of the late designer's successor, Peter Copping, who was formerly a designer for French brand Nina Ricci.

The occasion saw a beautiful debut of Latin-inspired elegance made fresh by the British designer, presenting a multi-dimensional floral motif that ran through the line, including small print-like treatments. Sequins, beads and fur-trim were delightful embellishments and for eveningwear there were figure-hugging sheath dresses, sweetheart cocktail dresses with bubble skirts, or black lace halter necks.

"I am immensely proud to have been chosen Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta," wrote Copping. "Unfortunately things did not go according to our plans and I never had the chance to work with Oscar, which is something I deeply regret."

"In this, my first collection, I hope to honour Oscar’s legacy and also to start a new chapter for the house."
