Camélia by CHANEL
By SENATUS Watches & Jewelry | 26 January 2016

A delicate bloom, a symbol of purity and longevity in Asia, the Camélia has captivated Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel, who then went on to incorporate this key element into her style from 1923. Pinned on a garment, adorning a hairstyle, engraved on the buttons of a suit, or as an embroidery or lace motif, the Camélia has become one of her signatures.

Always in love with the Orient, Chanel was seduced by the perfect and exotic simplicity of the camellia, a flower once known as the "Japanese Rose". Since its first appearance in Chanel style since 1924, coloured white to emphasize the black of her little dresses, this Chanel icon has gone on to blossom in designs by the French luxury label.

Pinned on a garment, adorning a hairstyle, engraved on the buttons of a suit, or as an embroidery or lace motif, the Camélia has become one of her signatures: the perfect accessory, as timeless as Chanel itself.
