"Les Journées Particulières" Inside Givenchy Haute Couture Salon
By Haute Couture Week | 23 May 2016

From 20 to 22 May, LVMH is opening up 40 of its ateliers showcasing the diversity of métiers and savoir-faire within its fashion houses across the world. Givenchy's haute couture salon was one of them, located at the Hôtel de Caraman townhouse at 3 Avenue George V.

An architectural masterpiece dating back to the 19th century, it was inhabited by French aristocracy for many years before becoming the historical headquarters of the Givenchy House in 1959. The building, which is opening to the public for the second time, housed Hubert de Givenchy for 36 years, and has seen a succession of talented artistic directors, including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and lastly Riccardo Tisci, since 2005. The building is now the workplace of some of the House’s employees and includes the Artistic Direction department, the design studios and the workshops.

Givenchy’s creative spirit lives on, and all collections are created within these walls.
