Winning a Michelin Star can be a life-changing moment for chefs. It may be a year of intense anticipation wondering if the inspectors have come a-knocking, but before that it has already been a lifetime’s dedication to the culinary arts.
We were there at the 2017 Michelin Guide Gala dinner last Thursday as recipients found out if they retained the stars they received from the inaugural edition last year, whether a few received an additional one, and which ones got new stars. All in all, we wanted to share the joyous moments with our readers - these are moments of both intense relief and uninhibited exhilaration.
