OMEGA celebrates launch of new Planet Ocean collection in Miami

The stars descended upon Miami Beach this week as OMEGA unveiled the fourth generation of its iconic Planet Ocean collection. Leading the charge was the charismatic Glen Powell who was welcomed as the evening's guest of honor to celebrate the redesign of this emblematic timepiece. The launch event served as the official unveiling for the new lineup and brought together a sophisticated crowd to toast the latest evolution of a watch that has defined the brand's diving category for two decades.

The evening was a magnet for talent and style with a guest list that read like a who's who of cultural tastemakers. Joining the festivities were OMEGA Friend of the Brand Colman Domingo and the record-breaking pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis. The star-studded crowd also included TV personality Antoni Porowski and actors Diego Boneta and Bryan Tyree Henry alongside Alex González and Taylor Zakhar Perez. The gathering was further elevated by the presence of content creators Inoxtag and Jacob Rott as well as music artist Rim'K.

The modern Faena Forum in Miami Beach served as the perfect backdrop for the occasion. The venue is renowned for its geometric architecture and striking cylinder form which perfectly mirrored the redesigned angles of the new watches. Inside the minimalist space views of the water framed the room and enlivened the call of the ocean that drives the campaign. Guests were immediately immersed in a marine world where blue and orange reflections danced across the walls to match the signature hues of the collection while a central display allowed everyone to explore the new creations in detail.

These latest timepieces arrive exactly twenty years after the very first Planet Ocean was released. This fourth generation delivers a complete transformation for the modern era by balancing historical codes with contemporary design. The collection continues to feature the signature orange color that has defined the line since 2005 and now offers seven different versions available worldwide.

Raynald Aeschlimann, the President and CEO of OMEGA, addressed the stylish crowd and noted that Miami felt like the perfect destination to celebrate this pioneering spirit. He remarked that the endless horizon of the city makes anything feel possible which is exactly how the brand approaches its watchmaking. Glen Powell, who leads the global marketing campaign alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, also took the stage to share his thoughts. Known for his versatility across action and romance, the actor spoke of the immense legacy behind the brand. He shared that he always gets a sense of the significant presence OMEGA has held throughout history and expressed his excitement to be in Miami to witness the reaction to the modern look of the new watches.
