Raymond Weil redefines the rules of elegance with a witty game of Simon Says
By SENATUS Magazine | 3 December 2025

In the hallowed halls of Swiss horology where tradition usually reigns supreme, a delightful rebellion is brewing under the discerning eye of Romaric André. The provocateur behind the label seconde/seconde/ has joined forces with the independent Geneva-based Maison Raymond Weil to inject a dose of irony into the serious business of dress watches. This new limited edition functions as a sartorial game of "Simon Says" where the only rules that matter are the ones dictated by the watchmaker himself. The collaboration playfully subverts the rigid codes of masculine elegance by transforming the Toccata Heritage into a lesson in etiquette that begs to be ignored.

The face of the watch is a study in duality featuring an anthracite-grey dial that is severed into two distinct personalities. On the left a ghostly matte opaline finish suggests that this portion should remain hidden beneath a shirt cuff while the right side preens with a luminous sunburst reflection and polished minute markers. A cheeky inscription in yellow Pantone 7402C text explicitly commands the wearer that the dress shirt cuff should cover at least half of the watch. It is a design that captures the very essence of a dress watch by literally writing the rules of engagement across its surface.

The irony continues upon flipping the timepiece over where the nearly closed case back offers yet another strict instruction regarding the art of winding the mechanism. The engraving advises one to remove the watch before winding it in a dramatic fashion which ideally should occur in the middle of a conversation. Beneath these witty edicts beats a manual-winding mechanical movement RW4100 housed within a slender stainless steel oval case that recalls the golden age of Swiss design. The silhouette is completed by short polished lugs and a black calfskin leather strap with alligator-style embossing which ensures the joke is delivered with the utmost sophistication.

As the brand approaches its fiftieth anniversary in 2026 this collaboration proves that heritage need not be stuffy. CEO Elie Bernheim notes that this daring step brings an unmistakable smile to a category defined by sobriety and captures the balance between technical virtuosity and emotional expression. Priced at USD 2,075 this limited edition invites the discerning collector to play along with the joke while looking impeccably stylish.
