For the fifth consecutive year, Cartier reaffirms its commitment to the art of cinema as an official partner of the Venice Biennale International Film Festival. This 82nd edition, running from 27 August to 6 September 2025, becomes a stage where the Maison’s century-long romance with the silver screen is once again celebrated—an ode to creativity, dialogue, and craftsmanship in contemporary filmmaking.
Marking a first, Cartier sponsors all masterclasses in the official festival programme with Biennale Cinema 2025: Cartier Masterclasses – The Art and Craft of Cinema. These intimate conversations illuminate the collaborative practices behind the camera—spotlighting not only the actors and directors in the limelight but also the artisans whose unseen artistry shapes cinematic storytelling. At the Match Point Arena on Venice Lido, a stellar lineup includes Sofia Coppola with Milena Canonero, Jane Campion with Tanya Seghatchian, Sergio Castellitto with Margaret Mazzantini, and Alfonso Cuarón with a soon-to-be-announced creative partner. For the first time, these exchanges will be broadcast and streamed globally in partnership with Arte, extending the dialogue to a wider audience.
The festival also witnesses the return of the prestigious Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award, honoring visionaries who have left an indelible mark on contemporary cinema. Crafted in Cartier’s Paris High Jewellery ateliers, the Panther-head trophy embodies the Maison’s dual devotion to artistry and imagination. Past laureates include Wes Anderson, Ridley Scott, Walter Hill, and Claude Lelouch.
For Cartier, cinema is more than a stage for its creations—it is a shared space of artistry where jewellery, storytelling, and human adventure intertwine. Since the early 20th century, Cartier has adorned film legends both onscreen and beyond, its designs capturing the same magic that films conjure: the power to make us dream, and to elevate reality into the sublime.
