Chloe’s new fragrance, Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Intense, is the essence of the inspiring, visionary femininity behind the maison, which has symbolised freedom since its inception - when Gaby Aghion founded Chloé in 1952, she focused her energy on creating for women. Eschewing the haute couture she felt was too formal, she invented luxury prêt-à-porter and designed a relaxed, freeing style.
L’Eau de Parfum Intense melds a sophisticated rose with abundant softwoods. It revisits Chloé’s iconic flower, which in this fragrance is nuanced, luxuriant, sensual, and more potent than ever – the symbol of a strong, inspired Chloé femininity.
The fragrance opens with vibrant, succulent raspberry notes that accentuate the sensuality of the rose, which then blossoms fully. The fragrance expresses every facet of the flower as though its scent had been captured at three different times of the day: it evokes at once the fresh morning rose, green and slightly crisp; the open midday rose, rich and deep; and the honeyed evening rose, with its creamy, gourmand accents. All these qualities are maximised to create a complex, luxuriant intensity.
A bouquet of warm, ambery softwoods then unfolds, each wood more concentrated than the last, nearly to the point of excess. Ambroxan lends its woody, musky, almost leather-like tonalities, Cashmeran offers its luxurious sensuality, and cedar enhances the character of this fragrance that embodies the freedom of the Chloé woman.
For L’Eau de Parfum Intense, the Chloé fluted perfume bottle has been given a new look, now stamped with a sleek black and ecru label for an even more modern and refined style. The ribbon tied at the bottle’s neck has also taken on a new colour: a deep garnet, evoking the blooming flower that appears in the accompanying imagery.
The fragrance comes in 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml bottles. And now, for the first time, the entire fragrance line is refillable: the Maison has developed a 150 ml refill made of recycled aluminium and compatible with all bottles.
