Ferrari has received the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for the ground-breaking design of the Portofino, Ferrari’s most recent V8-engined GT car.
The Ferrari Portofino may have been positioned as the marque's entry-level model, but behind the its sinister grin lies a 591-hp twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 that gives it considerable legs. Other performance gear includes an electronic limited-slip differential and an adaptive suspension. The elegant and versatile convertible offers luxuries such as a retractable hardtop roof and a 10.2-inch infotainment display.
This is the consecutive fourth year that the Prancing Horse receives this prestigious honour for one of its new models. During the Gala ceremony in Essen, Germany, the jury of international designers also assigned two Red Dot awards for outstanding design quality to Ferrari for the 812 Superfast and the FXX-K Evo.
The awards are testimony to the unmistakable design and ground-breaking technology that are at the basis of Ferrari’s production.
