Hotel Mono in Singapore Rejuvenated from Heritage Shophouses

30 March 2017

By Natalie White

A chic hideaway set in Singapore's vibrant Chinatown, the newly-opened Hotel Mono is a newly opened 46 room hotel which offers a contemporary take on the traditional heritage shop house.

The combination of six beautifully rejuvenated buildings to house the new hospitality destination sees the shophouses retain their original charm with characteristic airwells and Rococo-era windows.

Designed by the award-winning firm Spacedge Designs, who took Design of the Year in 2012 President Design Award for their glossy luminating HDB flat design Wonder Box.

Each of the property's forty-six rooms offers stylish comfort and rest from the city's buzz. Lighting bars frame the walls to brighten each room.

Clean lines and neutral colours carefully enhance the minimalist beauty of each space.

A double room at costs S$160 a night and slightly under S$300 for a family room that accommodates up to four people.
