Erlier this month, LOEWE celebrated the launch of Spring Summer 2018 collection at Layer 57 in Seoul and joined on this occasion by the house's Creative Director Jonathan Anderson. Korea is the collection's first stop, after its debut at Paris Fashion Week.
The new collection was presented in an industrial space with large-scale tapestries, especially commissioned for the Spring Summer 2018 Women's runway show, accompanied by Korean moonjars.
The collection is an interpretation of femininity, with highly-textured classic garments that have been innovatively reconfigured. There is a softness. evident in pastel panels, gingham prints and paisleys. Recurring asymmetry, cutouts and form-accentuating elements sharpen a fluid silhouette, while hand embellishments add dimension and showcase a range of special artisanal techniques.
The collection also introduces a new shape to join LOEWE's iconic bags: The Gate, a modern take on a classic saddle carrier featuring a distinctive knot belt and brass hinge.
On the special launch in Asia, Jonathan Anderson, LOEWE Creative Director added, "Korea’s vibrant cultural and artistic scene fits well in LOEWE’s modern identity. I look forward to strengthening the brand’s presence in the country and collaborating with the teams there."
