Prada in Istanbul

Prada sees the Turkish capital of Istanbul as an interesting threshold between Europe and Asia and considers it a market with great development and growth potential in the region.

In order to cater to the great expectations regarding the brand registered in the last few years, this project presents a store that covers a surface area of over 1,000 square metres, making it one of the largest luxury boutiques in the city.

The new store designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi has two entrances and four display windows framed with opulent black marble cladding. Due to its strong visual identity, it stands out amongst the buildings of the Nisantasi neighbourhood, the city’s focal urban shopping destination.

The employment of various materials and colours characterizes the different display spaces. Furnishings in steel and ivory saffiano leather distinguish the area dedicated to the women’s collections whilst the area dedicated to the men’s collections is identifiable by its rosewood and polished steel furnishings.

Two black marble staircases, which are lined with bronzed mirrors, are situated at either end of the store, bestowing the space with impressive architectural features.

The beige carpet, the green pastel ceiling and walls, and the wheat-coloured velvet chosen for the store’s seating work together to create an harmonious visual unity that brings together the different spaces. These elements recall the distinctive features of Prada stores worldwide.

The design is completed by display cases in glass and steel placed on bronzed glass walls.

The ground floor of the store is dedicated to bags, accessories and footwear, which are presented in elegant lounges, whilst the first floor is devoted to the womenswear and menswear collections.
