The Prada store located inside the prestigious Paragon Building shopping mall in Singapore has re-opened after renovation.
Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the space spans over a total surface area of approximately 850 square metres and houses the women’s and men’s collections of ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear.
The large external façade on Orchard Road is particularly striking: on the lower part, a black veined marble cladding highlights the entrance, the display windows and the light-boxes, whereas the upper part of the elevation is made out of glass and features hexagonal backlit panels with coloured light effects, that change at regular intervals, as well as two large light boxes and a scenic window.
The image of the store’s interior has also been re-imagined as all the historic and distinctive elements of the brand are used in an innovative way. The traditional green canvas-upholstered walls and display niches are enriched by sophisticated and elegant details like lightly-smoked mirrored surfaces and ivory ‘saffiano’ leather shelves.
The area dedicated to womenswear features an alternation of mirrored and light leather ‘curtain’ walls that enhance the display of the collection. The footwear is presented in a space conceived as a series of sophisticated corners with curvy sofas and glass and polished steel counters.
The men’s area presents classic and masculine elements like rosewood furniture and polished steel details, wheat-coloured velvet sofas and display counters with black ‘saffiano’ leather surfaces.
