SINGAPORE The Fundraising Gala Dinner for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation raised one of the largest charitable contributions in Asia, with all tables and all items at the auction sold-out.
This gala dinner held at the Jubilee Hall of the historic Raffles Hotel Singapore, was organized in conjunction with the prestigious "Champion of the Earth" United Nations award given to HSH Prince Albert II de Monaco who donated his white gold cufflinks with diamond studs and his late father, HSH Prince Rainier's Audemars Piguet watch in white gold and diamonds for the auction. Other items included the masterpiece sculpture by famous artist and Diane Fay member Mr. Sun Yu-Li; a holiday at IndoChine Villa Santi in Phuket and an exclusive weekend in Monaco during Formula 1 season this year, staying at Hotel Hermitage and flying AirFrance Business Class with helicopter rides and invitations to the best parties.
All guests for the evening received a commemorative porcelain dish with the Prince's Seal, specially brought in by HSH Prince Albert himself. Prince Albert had such a wonderful time in Asia and promised to be back for a second Fundraising gala night in 2009 in Singapore.
During his visit in Singapore, HSH Prince Albert II de Monaco also visited the INSEAD Singapore Campus and was introduced to Environment and Sustainable Development expert, Dr. Ashok Khosla.
