MONACO On Friday 23 May, the ultra-glamorous worlds of Formula One and fashion came together once again for Amber Fashion. The Monaco catwalk saw a stunning fashion show featuring Formula One drivers, their wives and girlfriends, all to benefit the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF).

ITV presenter Steve Rider & and Bernie Ecclestone's other daughter, Tamara Ecclestone hosted the event which was again held at the luxurious Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel. The charity auction was conducted by the legendary auctioneer Charlie Ross and raised close to 1.375 million dollars. The auction lots included Sharon Stone's 1974 Corvette which was purchased by the current F1 World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen.

Dr. Vijay Mallya, chairman of Force India F1 team, won the bidding for Elton John's personal piano. Elton used the piano to write the critically acclaimed “Songs from the West Coast". VJ also went away the proud owner of a unique Chopard watch set with 771 diamonds. This incredible piece from the Elton John Collection was kindly donated by Chopard. Dr Vijay Mally had already donated an all inclusive week on his luxury yacht the Indian Empress, one of the largest private yachts in the world at 95 metres. This item was purchased by John Ronan, the Irish billionaire. Mrs Alfiya Kuanysheva secured the tickets to Elton John's Oscar Party which included two first class return tickets donated by Air France.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert again graced the event with his presence, joined by Bernie and Slavica Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore, Jean Todt, Elizabeth Hurley, Naomi Campbell, Tamara Mellon, Gary Barlow and F1 drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Timo Glock. The show itself offered glamour and elegance in abundance for the VIP audience. Petra Ecclestone, daughter of F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, opened the show with the launch of FORM, her luxury menswear collection.

For the first time ever several Formula One drivers from a multitude of teams took to the catwalk. The drivers included Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Lewis Hamilton, Vitantanio Liuzzi, Nelson Piquet Jr, Nico Rosberg, Adrian Sutil and Mark Webber who looked fully confident and natural on the catwalk. Kimi Raikkonen didn't participate in the show but was smiling and relaxed in the front row wearing an exclusive leather jacket from the FORM collection.

At the end of the show Petra Ecclestone received a standing ovation and flowers from Jenson Button. Elizabeth Hurley's Haute Couture Swimwear range was presented together with the luxurious shoes and accessories from the Jimmy Choo collection. Elizabeth Hurley herself was stunning in the front row next to her husband, wearing a sky blue dress. Chopard Jewellery Show included an amazing act involving dancers and models wearing their magnificent High-Jewellery Collection.

Among the distinguished VIP guests was Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co-president of Chopard, who has strongly supported the EJAF cause by being partner of the prestigious White Tie and Tiara Ball and the EJAF Viewing party of the Oscars. Martini was supporting Amber Fashion again and hosted the pre and post event cocktail party adding to its own celebration of 40 years of Martini Racing.
