MB&F Horological Machine No. 8 "Can-Am"

5 November 2016

Horological Machine N°8 (HM8) from MB&F infuses the distinctive angular form and optical prism displays with the high-octane Can-Am race car-inspired design.

We've often felt it was a waste that the rotor that self-winds the watch is hidden and sometimes seen only on the case-back.

Well,  the HM8 has cracked that challenge with a lateral time display, and the engine viewable via the "case-top" where you normally expect a dial!

The open centre of the blued-gold battle-axe rotor enables appreciation of the circular wave finish on the movement, while the hour and minute indication discs are visible in the corners.

The generous use of sapphire crystal allows unfettered visual access to the movement while its transparency backlights the time displays, making them more legible by day.

Light also charges the Super-LumiNova numerals on the hour and minute discs for maximum legibility by night.

The MB&F HM8 Can-Am retails at S$127,700 and launches in two versions: 18K white gold/titanium and 18K red gold/titanium.
