Burberry Brings London to Shanghai
By SENATUS News | 25 April 2014

At a special Burberry event held in Shanghai last night to celebrate the opening of their new flagship store in the city, brand spokesperson Cara Delevingne pulled a Mary Poppins, flying down the catwalk at the finale courtesy of her magical checked Burberry umbrella. The supermodel and Suki Waterhouse were the stars of the glittering launch show and also appeared in a teaser clip for the event wearing their classic Burberry trenches.

Restaging its Fall/Winter 2014 presentation from London held earlier this February, models lined up in monogrammed Burberry shawls at the finish and singer Paloma Faith performed. Upcoming British act, George Ezra, also sang earlier in the evening for the assembled guests, accompanied by dancing Burberry umbrellas.

The gleaming new store in the Kerry Centre mall in Shanghai’s Jing An district -- its largest in Asia -- is a replica of the shop on London’s Regent Street, with its sweeping staircases and interactive mirrors as well as impressive intelligent glass facade that reacts to different weather conditions.
