Dior continued its global catwalk tour with a Shanghai-based Dior Homme runway show this past Friday. This is the second time that the maison has paraded their looks in Asia this month, following a Spring 2014 haute couture showing they hosted in Hong Kong on April 10th. However, Dior Homme’s first entrée onto the scene was last Spring, when they ventured outside of Paris for the first time ever to present the collection to a group of VIPs and fashion influencers in Beijing.
Why such dedication to the Asian market? Valuable sales for the label, especially for its mens' offerings.
“I’m very aware that I work for an international brand — I’m not only working for French guys,” explained creative director Kris Van Assche. “It’s not about doing specific clothes for specific continents or specific people because it doesn’t really work like that, you kind of have a worldwide view.”
