In August this year, a black-themed party was held at the HUBLOT boutique on Nanjing West Road in Shanghai, entitled "HUBLOT Black Mamba Night" in honour of the nickname of the Swiss watch label's newest brand ambassador, Kobe Bryant.
The Los Angeles Lakers star basketballer was in attendance for an exclusive unveiling of the King Power Black Mamba Chronograph Watch together with Loic Biver, branding director of HUBLOT China.
He arrived in China for the occasion to pick up his very own timepiece, which in itself is limited to only 250 pieces worldwide.
The King Power Black Mamba Chronograph Watchwas inspired by Bryant's quest for pushing the limit and unremitting passion for ultimate victory.
The eye-catching Number "24" on the dial is a nod to his jersey number, while the purple and gold accents are in deference to the "Dynasty of Purple & Gold" of the Los Angeles Lakers, in celebration of the team's achievements and glories.
Furthermore, a black mamba coils through the skeletonized dial, a design delivering mechanical aesthetic value as well as mysterious charisma.
Finally, a distinctive python snake strap sewed on black rubber and a caseback engraved with Kobe Bryant's signature complete the watch design, and is a true testament and interpretation of HUBLOT’s concept of "the Art of Fusion".
