In the celebrated pages of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s "The Little Prince," a young traveler journeys through the universe to discover profound truths about friendship and love. IWC Schaffhausen has long honored this timeless narrative through special edition timepieces defined by their deep blue dials, evoking the infinite stretch of the cosmos. Now, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer introduces a new chapter with its first "Le Petit Prince" edition crafted from luminous white ceramic.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Le Petit Prince is a study in visual contrast. Its 41-millimetre case is sculpted from white zirconium oxide ceramic, an advanced material that is harder and lighter than steel while offering a smooth, velvety surface to the touch. This pristine exterior provides the perfect frame for the signature deep blue sunburst dial, which features a captivating color gradient effect.
Within this technical shell lies the IWC-manufactured 69381 calibre, a robust mechanical movement designed with a classic column-wheel architecture. The dial layout is characteristically vertical, placing stopped minutes at the 12 o’clock position to ensure maximum readability for the wearer. The rhodium-plated hands and bold white indices are filled with Super-LumiNova to maintain legibility long after the sun sets.
The poetic heritage of the collection is preserved on the reverse side, where the titanium case back features an intricate engraving of the Little Prince. For added versatility, the watch is equipped with the EasX-CHANGE system, allowing the white rubber strap to be replaced at the touch of a button. Through this blend of advanced material science and literary romance, IWC Schaffhausen continues to engineer timepieces that belong both to the world of professional instruments and the world of dreams.
